It could be one of the highlights of BLN2014 this summer: the duel of Sascha Klein and Tom Daley on the 10m platform. The German diver Klein was one step ahead of Daley as he finished third after Yuan Cao (586,20 points) und Bo Qui (557,80 points) with 496,20 points at the FINA Diving World Series in Windsor/Canada. The British World Champion of 2009 and Olympic third of London finished fourth with 10 points behind Klein. “Sascha successfully demonstrated that he is part of the world elite with this result”, says Lutz Buschkow, director competitive sports of the German Swimming Federation.
Already at the World Championships in Barcelona 2013, Klein and Daley kicked it up a notch and ranked third and sixth. The first big international duel took place six years ago. In 2008 Daley grabbed gold at the ESC in Eindhoven at the age of 14 before Klein. In 2010 and 2011 Sascha Klein took the title as the European Champion, in 2012 it was Daley’s turn. If Daley participates in Berlin, we are ready for another stunning round!
